Bread Lame (Scoring Tool)

$20.00

Our bread lame is hand made in an exclusive partnership with veteran owned, Anchorage based wood worker, Arctic Appalachian.

Our lame provides a secure hold for the blade while covering sections that catch and tear dough on other lames. The small sleek design is as compact as a lame can get and offers great control for detailed scoring artwork.

Every loaf of artisanal sourdough bread must be cut or ‘scored’ before going in the oven. This score allows for the loaf to rapidly rise in the oven, expanding at the cut(s) where intended.

[Commonly referred to by its french name ‘lame’; Pron “lahm”, meaning ‘blade’]

Please note: Our lames will be engraved with the Frontiersman Sourdough Logo in 2025. Lame contains a double edged razor blade.

A portion of all profits at Frontiersman Sourdough are donated to environmental conservation in Alaska.
